- First, learn more about the level of education that is typically required for the specific occupation you intend to pursue by searching for the job title on O*Net (click here), which is resource developed by the U.S. Department of Labor.
- Once you know which type of degree (e.g. associate's, bachelor's, master's) you can search for specific programs. Here are a couple of military-specific college search websites that allow you to filter for location, program, financial support for military, and more. You can also use the links provided on O*Net to professional organizations for your intended profession.

- Military Friendly Rankings: http://militaryfriendly.com
- Find at least 3 specific programs that you're interested in and create Google Sheet, listing each program in a separate row. The column headings should include factors that are important to you in selecting a school. See the image below as an example. Post the link to your Google Sheet in the comments once you're done.
This course is intended to help military spouses thinking about pursuing their first college degree. It will help spouses explore career options and make informed decisions on their educational choices.
Module 2: School Selection Criteria
Once you have narrowed down your career goals it's time to start looking at academic programs that will prepare you for that occupation. For the purpose of this exercise, select the job that you are feeling most pulled towards currently. Don't worry - you can always change your mind! This activity will help you understand the process.
